I’ve been listening to punk rock since I was about 14. Nearly 20 years. I’ve encountered a lot of bands. I grew up in LA, listening to the Descendents, Black Flag and The Germs. But, for me, nobody captures the spirit of punk rock better than The Ramones.
I consider myself to be a fairly intelligent and reasonable person. Although I’m not a scientist (or medical professional), I am fairly well versed in scientific thinking. That said, I am about as afraid of contracting ebola as I am of getting stuck in sharknado (a tornado made of sharks). I judge the likelihood of these two occurences to be relatively similar. I hope this puts your mind at ease.
Coming of age in the 90s, my generation had a firm belief that through our anger and indignation, we were making the world a better place. We fighting the Power, and it was the right thing to do. Then 9/11 happened and the world was suddenly filled with anger and fear, and that’s when—for better or for worse—I gave up fighting and decided that all I wanted was some peace.
